Dean of Nursing Message to Students Starting College
Welcome to Jersey College. We are thrilled you have chosen Jersey College for your nursing education! Nursing is a profession that offers future personal and professional growth and career advancement.
Our mission at Jersey College is “to bridge the labor gap occurring in demand occupations and to train competent professionals who are well prepared to enter the job market”. Our focus is to provide excellence in nursing education to our diverse student population to prepare our graduates to be competent and outstanding leaders in health care.
The faculty at Jersey College are dedicated individuals who have expertise as educators and clinicians. Effective teaching and learning transpires at the College through the application of Boyer’s Model of Scholarship through the rigorous inquiry of discovery, integration, application, and teaching (NLN, 2007).
In concert with the College’s mission to increase the nursing workforce, the Nursing faculty, administrators, and support staff are devoted to academic excellence through a student-centered approach to nursing education. The College’s open curriculum allows the adult learner to advance in the nursing field from a diploma program to a degree program. Students are provided a well-rounded education progressing from simple-complex. The teaching- learning process integrates nursing philosophies, evidence-based practice, technology, and cultural diversity reinforced through clinical and simulation learning experiences.
